My wife owned and ran a small grocery and greengrocery shop ifor 5 years from 1984..I decorated it with some of my bits.Sadly 75%  sold on later..sorry about the quality of the pictures,,Cash raised re-invested in unusual old smoothing irons..with hindsight a wrong decision

Remember it well Ken. Your shop was well known for miles around... the days when you could find great things at fairs. Also remember your old red Renault which carried us many a mile to and from fairs... happy days! Still got a few items seen in those photos in my collection.

Yes Ken we went to Knebworth Park National Fair. It was a show organised by Chiltern ABC which I think was led by Mike Smith who was a pioneer and legend in the Collector's Fair scene. Knebworth was a great setting with stalls in a massive tent as well as outside on the grass. Here's the badge from 83... 37 years ago!

Knebworth .............Memories ! Went to see LED ZEPPELIN there in 1979 ( still had the T shirt until a few years ago ) then came home and straight off to walk the north Devon and Cornwall path..............its turned out to be the week of the Fastnet Gales !! Got soaked through every day, nearly blown off the cliffs and lost 2 out of 6 tents ..............Happy Days LOL

There were so many great fairs to do back then. Aylesbury was an excellent fair held on Good Friday. Winternational's at Bletchley and Dunstable were always great shows as long as it didn't snow!. Hemel Hempstead was held in the Market Place if I remember correctly? Bottle shows we went to included Norwich which was well worth the long drive. Also fond memories of those fabulous BBR summer shows at the school in Wath upon Dearne (inc North v South footy matches!) Some fabulous stuff turned up there. Travelling further north we went to Leeds Queens Hall a lot - great fair in its day. Locally we had Leicester Granby Halls and Chilwell Olympia... Then came Newark, remember the first one's when Geoff started it? What an event. Probably the best remembered will be Donington International Collectors' which in its heyday was incredible. Happy, happy days indeed.

Zeppelin at Knebworth 79 Ross!
Never knew you were that old. 😉
I was 8 then. I saw the Oasis show there in 96!
As for fairs, iI was at the last Wath which was great.
Hemel had to be my Favourite though.

Stones played Knebworth in 76. One of the best concerts I saw was 'YES' headlining at Reading Fest in 75 - On at midnight in the rain with full laser light show in the sky - amazing.
