 Just do it while she's out shopping . She won't notice for about three weeks anyway ! You could also add that it could have been worse , it could have been the 6 foot Palethorpes instead.

 That's got to be the best example of a Palethorpes I've seen. Really deep blue,so I'm guessing it's Imperial Enamel . Has Mrs Tyke approved it for above the Aga? Does that mean your 6 FT lump is surplus to requirements now? Just asking ,you never know your luck! Cheers, Marcus.

Thats an original frame Mick

This one and the upright all had silver frames 100% original

..........and to answer your question.... i bet they look like edges !! LOL

I dont know but everyone I've seen with the frame still on including mine
is silver grey, obviously they just thought it looked right ?

 Agree....framed ones always seem to be silver...had a few with black frames but could see the silver underneath...guess the silver wasn't to every shop's taste and were overpainted...quite often turn up with white painted frames too but again this was probably just for shop aesthetics especially if they were displayed inside like most of the Palethorpes were..

Ross..thanks for that...very odd colour paint to be used back then though...White or black i could understand..
