All,
Me and the missus have just returned 2nd Advertising & Collectors Fair, which took place yesterday in a village just outside Antwerp.
It was a relatively small scale 'gathering' of collectors in the delightful beer garden of the Tram Station Cafe) which itself contains a lot of advertising material and period fixtures and fittings.
There was some real quality on display and it was an opportunity for me to have a yarn with people like Henk van Embden - and have my photo taken by the local press as a distinguished overseas visitor!
We stayed Friday and Saturday nights in Antwerp itself, which is a vibrant and interesting city with some great 'old mans pubs' off the beaten track.
We had a tremendous weekend and I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who fancies going next year!
Best for now
Dunc
P.S. I shall leave you with some pics. |

Sounds like a great trip! Perhaps we should organise a group trip through this forum one year! Who'd be up for that then?
Looking forward to seeing the photos Dunc! |

All sounds fantastic - sure many would make a w/e trip of it - have offered before to promote prior in BBR magazine - just need the date & details/ contact number/ email - sure its a fairly regular annual slot? |

I appriciate the attention Dunc, but I wasn't at the fair
So, I don't know who you talked to, but it wasn't me. :-)
And I am not at Temploux also this year. Going fishing in Norway :-)

Sorry Henk
I'm not quite sure who I did in fact meet in that case (it must be the beer!) but that's certainly me holding the Cinzano sign in the pic. I look forward to meeting you one day though, as advertising and deep sea fishing are (aside from the wife, in case she reads this!) the two great loves of my life - I'm off to Norway for the first time next year. Let me know if you want info on any of the boat fishing tournaments over here - great fun.
Cheers
