My questions is..... about 7 ish years ago i saw an enamel sign come up on ebay that was a silhouette of the london skyline, i think its was cadburys. Does anyone have a picture of the sign or signs im talking about, ive not seen one come up again since! thanks ben

Your question just took me back in time. 15- 20 years ago, I was in Lincoln buying some oil enamels, the sellers had a very large similar sign with the Lincoln skyline against from memory a red background. They refused to sell as they were moving from Lincoln and wanted to keep this one sign as a reminder of Lincoln.

The sign on ebay was, I recall , the Cadburys Cocoa version. Someone on the forum may have an image of it. There was a Cadburys Chocolate version that came up for auction at BBR many, many years ago, if you have the old advertising catalogues, or again, someone could well be able to post it up? 2003 rings a bell.

the lengths some people go to for a good picture, stood balanced on a ladder and chair back, why didn't they just put it on the floor?

I can just see the Health & Safety lot having a fit over that set up! No risk assessment, no safety harness, no hard hat no cordoned off area with the obligatory tiger tape, no warning signs, no safety boots etc etc.

That 1970s pub sign I was on about recently had quite a good night skyline.
I thought so anyway.
Everyone else thought it was a load of shit.

Seven Stars pub sign Mick.
It appears in an episode of Minder from 1984.
Don't suppose Minder is transmitted that often in Canada.

Eyaz the Falkirk iron skyline enamel..Had the chance to buy it perhaps 25yrs ago for £300 off a well known dealer and passed on it...Not because of price but the size of it..Really regret not buying it now but there you go,still came home with a few more smaller enamels
