Hello everyone!

May be will be the wrong section but I don't know where to write my introduction! I was inscribed on this forum like Tobacco, but something happened and I can't enter or contact the stuff. So, now I want to do the things in the fair way. I hope that for you will not be a problem!

Anyway, I'm Mario and I'm 22. I'm from Italy and I live in London from less than one year. My English is rich and interesting like a white wall but I think that with patience and some dictionary I can write in an understandable way. Before my travel, I was quite interested for vintage and some old kind of stuff but my passion for the tins explode when I came in London...I remember when I bought my first tin, in Camden! Was a Walter's cigarettes tin. Stunning for me! In the first times I used it for contain my rolled tobacco cigarettes. But, when I put my tin on a table, I watch it, I can see the sharm and the beauty of those tins. So, I understand the important of those treasures that are so old and look really great!...The second was one Muratti After Lunch...And the third one Magna, and a lot of ones the come after...Now people believe that I've a little obsession! But, just I love it!

The dust, the rust, the colours, the lithographies, the story, the age...

When I fiund this forum, I was really happy because I can share with people my passion! I have a lot of doubts about the real story of few of my tins and I hope that you can help me! I made a lot of researches and if really interesting when you discover new important informations about your tins.

And, why not? I can buy something if possible!

So, thanks if someone will be interested to read my words and thanks for share this wonderful passion! And...I'm really apologise for my English, I hope that you will understand me well.

Regards, Mario

Hi Mario, welcome to the site.

If your interest is in tins you should post in the "old tin collecting forum" section on this site.

Why not post some pictures of your collection?

Martin

No matter Mario, we all have to start somewhere !! 10 or so years ago I got back into the hobby and could only dream of some of the items and collections I saw. But after a while I have managed to put together a few good things. Just keep going and see where it takes you !!

Thanks, guys!

Many thanks, dear Relics! I love dinkys...The green/orange and the grey ones are two DeSoto Fireflite model 192 about 60's. The orange one have a nicely working suspensions! Really cute the Armoured Command Vehicle, from 1963, the date when was sold for the first time. I'm looking for a new, good, boxed ones...
When i'll have a little bit of time, i'll try to add all the pieces with a good pictures.
Maybe will be nice if i'll make a form for organize the stuff.  I wanna make a little close up for each tin, with all information that i serch in those months, in my little journey. I think that is really interesting to share some particulars about the condition and the provenience of those pieces of history!

My favourites, after the Young Ladies!

 Here we go!!

I'll take advantage from this thread to share my new display and talk about all my new tins added on my little collection! I've also find a lovely shelf, on the street, with words " Please i need a new home, take me". I don't know the age but just i think that is old, with a lot of floral decorations covered with dust and some scratches...Will be a good start for a forniture restoring!!

The shelf have 4 compartments, the largest starting from the bottom, and then finish with the smallest at the top . Lovely lost and rediscovered item!!

Anyway, a couple of added tins are from France...Suchard, from the Grand Prix of Paris, about 1900, the Bensdorp, the Kwatta, the Banania "Tapioca", some farine tins, a french recostituent with a words, on the bottom, "Arrete 11205 du 9-3-45 and the stunning square KUB!

And then, a couple of tins from Germany...One Zuban No 6, a really little cute Flecken-Pomade, and a really old 1852/1854 Parkinson butter-scotch tin and a lovely paper box of Russian cigarettes with a huge white filters!!

Thanks if you will appreciate my sharing...Is really interesting that with time, I start to know a lot of new stuff about those treasures...

Cheers,

Mario

 Good stuff ..
My wife once put me outside on the street with the same sign   " Please I need a new home, take me".

Strangely no one seized rthe opportunity ..Funny that

Thanks! You know, we can put everything outside, just we need to have a couple of patience!!

Anyway, i'll take this opportunity to share some new treasures!

I know that the conditions are not really interesting but i love the size and the style of the Young Ladies tins...

I never seen this kind of tin before...I think that is a unusual variant but I'm not pretty sure about this. Anyway, is in a very great condition, i love it! A couple of gold reflections...Superb, for me!

And this is a variant, the bigger size respect the gold one. Inside, have the same lithio of the external face of the little variant...Interesting!

And this is the variant in the better condition respect the other ones in the collecion. I love it...

All togheter!!

Cheers,
Mario
