 Hi ,Gordo . That's an unusual version for sure . Have you acquired it yourself , or just chanced on the picture . Southminster is a few miles from Southend -on-Sea in the county of Essex .Am guessing it must have been made for a specific place or location .

I like Bruton of Palmers Green signs. They have got the thickest enamel I’ve ever seen. Absolutely blinding depth of gloss on them.

1946.     May  J W Brutons & Sons partnership dissolved.
 
1946.    June  The  Ascot Boiler Co purchase the company, the name changed to J W Bruton & Sons Ltd.
 
1966.    Advertisement, latest reference to the company.
 
!973.    Dec J W Bruton & Sons Ltd. ceased trading and the company was dissolved.

These were put up for cyclist/motoring attraction on the roadside, as a bit of publicity for Lyons too. Raleigh did similar (for cyclists), and tgere is that famous one advertising Daimler on a town or resort sign (think its in Cotswold Motoring Museum??)
