the seller is a forum member, i think he is an honest, chap- but what annoys me is he says on the ebay auction- that he can't accept returns- not the chap I thought he was- if this is the case!! |

I don't think he would do it knowingly. He's a good guy and I have had lots of fair trading with him.
I have given repro's away in the past, mostly to beginner collectors or as freebe's to bored wives of tin collectors who visit. In hindsight I should have stamped on them.
These new ones from India are purposely made to dupe collectors and are really hard to tell without having handled the real thing.

Some recent Comments on this post have TOTALLY LOST ME !
My point was and is .............." To deliberately and knowingly sell something that is a fake or repro, when you have obviously purposely used a misleading description and or picture to catch out the unwary or new or inexperienced collector " is WRONG.
Unless of course you list it as a repro

Why would you take an angle grinder to the edge of a previously mint sign? |

It seems the copies are getting better and better, especially if the recent double sided Shell Garage is anything to go by. £840, if it was a copy then the buyer is in for a surprise. |

I stick my hand up and say that I was fooled and did have a go at it.
By the way, thank you to the GOD of bidding that allowed me to escape with a smile on my face.
