Here's an unusual beast, or 2/3 rds of it. 52" x 20" is whats left, so I guess it was a good 6 foot + when it started out. Dawsons also did the more familiar Perfection Whisky thermometer. The Coat of Arms is by appointment to the King of Spain, and I do know that Scotish whisky distillers tended to use second-hand sherry barrels for laying down their spirit, but as for the purple 'bubbles' its lost me. anyone out there got another, or knows what the missing section looks like, I would appreciate some info. Then its over to Sticky Eddy for some welding.

Bubbles in whisky? err.....
It would be tempting to fabricate the neck and have it welded on. An interesting sign.
How about a real bottle this size, preferably Cragganmore or Glenlivet or Chivas?

hiya, the things that you think might be bubbles inside the bottle are i think actually part of the design of the bottle. i have dug bottles like that before that are smooth (flat) around the middle but at the top and bottom (like your enamel) there are indents in the glass done durring the moulding of the bottle during manufacture. if i can find a pic ill post it up, and you'll see what im trying to explain striagt away.

Home to the almighty Glenfiddich Mr Al. Lovely little town. Picked up some enamels in a junk shop there many, many years ago.

Whisky made from purple grapes perhaps? No, impossible. The bubbles are confusing!

The thermometer is uncommon and I am surprised that it only reached 130. Times are hard, according to the media. But despite that, a poster collector with stacks of cash paid 69,000 pounds for a Titanic poster - not the original artwork mind you. There is still money out there for rare and georgeous items

i spent 20 mins looking for a pic of this bottle the other day but couldnt find it, over 8000 pictures so no suprise really!  i dug shit loads of those bottles up a few years ago and i can assure you they are not representing bubbles in the bottle, far to big and bubbles dont come in differnt sizes, in carbonated drinks. (altho i will add they do get bigger as they rise less pressre an all that)    ive still got one of these in the shed somewhere so i could have a look for it one day if your interested in see'ing what im on about.

cheers

Well done Mr Chelt Original, a very good piece of 'digging'. Hope Santa provides you with a full version, preferably of a more recent vintage.
