How's this Coca Cola sign, just came onto Ebay with a $5,000 buy it now price. A very early Coke sign, 1893, only a couple known to exist. I was thinking about buying it, till I started comparing it with a picture of a definite original I had. The real corker is in the makers name, instead of Beaver falls, it says Bever falls, bloody Indians should learn to spell.

And the typeface they used is not right. Enameled iron looks to be something like Futura, Helvetica etc from the 60s 70s.
Trouble is Fleece a lot of forgers underestimate the knowledge of collectors especially within forums like this. I hope no-one gets stung.

The sellers name is Worldofcocacola. He sent me a whole speil about why he thinks it's right and how signs were quite often misspelt. I told him to take it out of the frame and take a photo of the back, the back will tell all. I know the original backs had all the colours over run.
