I thought I'd start an ugly duckling thread, we're so used to looking at lovely what about the other side of the coin? You still see these everywhere (one on the site - sorry Al) but this and the versions in Portuguese are to be found up and down the land. If i ever ask in antique/junk shops if they have any old advertising you can guarantee one of these is never far away. So come on get your embarassing skeletons out the cupboard. And yes I did used to have one of these managed to sell it - phew! Jezmond.

Just been to an antique centre in Lancashire. They had two more of the delightful Duckworths - I was just explaining this thread to the other half and she said, like this one. I was standing under the bloody thing. No Jaktars though Rusty and L'umo. Must be getting rarer. Did buy some stuff though. Hurrah. Jezmondo

You lot are so mean, just because they are common it doesn't mean they are ugly.

Here's the Jaktar for you, one on the site now too. If you read it its quite funny.

Al.

I have oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodles of the damn Duckworths (daern't say how mny) ....... they all come wrapped in their original brown paper covering - never seen the light of day, as mints as ........

Mind - I recall the pressed tin Russell's Ales in Sheffield - similarly as mint as, in original brown wrapping - hundreds and hundreds of em - then they all dispappeared - not see none for ages.

Usually with 'hards' they appear in volume - first sell well, then they dip - and suddenly they've all gone, and you can't find one for love nor money - anyone want all my Duckworths?
