A simple but attractive jug that might have contained cherry brandy or cherry whisky/whiskey.
Here's a tap jar I bought last week.
Cheers
Al.
Took pics of these in a dealer's stock today.
£65 each I think.
Hi Al
Love the Lovibond jug but it's Henry's last name I want. How's this for a catchy business title?

Okay Tester, I'm a Mormon. What happens now?
I have been searching for a miniature Doulton footwarmer ever since Lummox posted his a few replies back. No luck yet, but much to my delight I came upon this enormous example a few weeks ago. The lettering is a sepia colour and I was wondering if anyone knows if this is an intentional colour or a result of a problem during the firing?
Hi Vlad,
Seen quite a few Sepia prints especially in earlier Doulton Warmers. You also get Sepia print Ginger Beers and Flagons from Doulton & Stiff for example. Think I've got a copy of a Doulton advertisement somewhere that offers Sepia print transfered Tap Jars (Flagons )
Lummox
Good information. Thanks Lummox.
I thought this tin would be of interest. More of a hand warmer or a pocket warmer than a foot warmer but I suppose you could stick it down your wellies if need be.
Vlad
Here's some flagons i left in my brothers garage.
Picked this Turtle Soup jar up the other day.
Love it!
Hey Al
That turtle soup jar is a keeper. Nice find!!
I like your flagons (sounds obscene). I noticed that one of them is from John Lovibond which ties in very nicely with the previous jug that had Henry Lovibond. Just who are these mysterious Lovibond's?
Must have been a giant shop or even a chain store something like Timothy Whites.
Here are some more stoneware items form a recent Aussie auction.
Hi love the stoneware .
Australian potters (generally trained inUK ) did make what we call workingmans pieces .they where allowd to do this as gifts for loved ones .the theory was that it would help to increase their skills sometimes potteries would produce a line if the items proved popular shoes included money boxes and other little trinkets. there are collectors of just ceramic shoes down here .
The little jugs are for whisky (note no e as the Yanks spell it!)
