Hello,

I got this lovely BLUE CROSS Matches, Brass and Enamel Matchbox Holder a while back and it takes pride iof place in my Vast 'BLUE CROSS' Collection........

I have an alterior motive for showing it, as there are other Blue Cross Items I'm after and a Question (from you enamel sign buffs) that I need answering.........

Question: I'm am regularly told that Blue Cross Matches (Issued by Nitedals Match Co. Norway)  were advertised on an Enamel Sign/s.  I've been told it so often BUT I have never ever seen one (are they just getting confused with Blue Cross Milk !?) - If there is one - can someone post a picture for me, so that I know what I'm chasing after.

Next:    After 40 years of collecting Norwegian matchbox labels and especially the Blue Cross, I was amazed to find this Brass and Enamel Matchbox Holder, as I had never ever heard of such an item before.  I was, however aware of a purely Brass one, and I'm still after that - so again, if anyone has or knows of a 'just' Brass one - I'd be Very Interested.

Next:   The Nitedals Match Co. issued loads of leaflets and handouts to promote the use of their matches (see example) - of which I only have about 5 examples - Again, does anyone out there have any I could see (or preferably have).

MORE THAN ANYTHING - I'D LOVE TO SEE OTHER PICTURES OF 'BLUE CROSS' MATCHES  RELATED ITEMS POSTED ON HERE -

Cheers - Andy Steer (talltinman)

Thanks Al,

That answer,  from someone I suspect has seen vertually all that is out there,  means that there isn't likely to be a Blue Cross Matches sign.... I shall therefore concentrate my efforts on seeking out all other hardware & ephemera.

Cheers - Andy Steer (talltinman)
