Too Old Too Cold

Hello, I only recently started collecting Tobacco tins and thus don't have much knowledge on them. My dad isn't into collecting but he is a smoker and is asking me to find him a tin that he can use. He wants a very specific topic and that is doctors, he wants one with say an image of a doctor with a quote along the lines of "Tobacco is good for you" or "Tobacco cures sore throats" Obviously not as blatent as that but you get the idea, a tin that shows tobacco in a good light, medically speaking.

Now he's not looking to spend much money and for that reason he's open to reproductions even brand new tins if they fit the bill. He dosen't want one thats rusted. Now I have no idea if such a tin exists or the cost but if any of you could give me some assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi Too Old Too Cold,

There are 2 brands that come to mind. "Medico" manufactured by Thomas Bear & Sons with a picture of a doctor on the front and a slogan Cigarettes For Health. circa 1928, also, "Doctor's Special" manufactured by A.Callus & Co based in Malta and with a white cross trade mark on the front. circa 1920's. However, you may stand a better chance getting hold of a "Craven A" (will not affect your throat)?? tin. I am sure you will find latter in ALs shop.
