This nice little piece of packaging recently sold for 620 Euro

I like it , but is there something I don't know ?

Having said that , I reckon most hard core collectors have bought a few pieces for a price that they would be embarrassed to reveal . I certainly have .

It always seems to me that once you have acquired a piece for whatever ridiculously high price  , the cost is soon forgotten when the satisfaction sets in .. but when I look at this , I wonder,  " where do you draw the line  " ?

That's the thing. The only reason the high bidder paid 620 is because someone else bid 600!

My rule is that it is too much if you couldn't put it back for sale in the same market a few weeks later and get your money back. But then I probably have the shortest pockets on this forum.

And it's not even tin folks.....

If it was an enamel sign what would it be worth?

Jeez Gordo ... You're hard to please
Obviously you are not too keen on that bloke !

What if there was a beautiful woman depicted on the packet  ?

Sex was well used to promote products back in the day as this next picture will clearly show .

Are the Banania tins worth anything?

Al.

Also, is that where Aslan lives?

Only some of the earlier not so mass produced ones Al .
They don't really appeal to me so I'm no expert.

And  yes  Al , Banania is indeed where  Aslan lives in Peace and Harmony after the great wars...... Took someone as well educated as yourself to spot that !

Well done and really quite hilarious ...

Banania is the french nesquik or Fry's cocoa ( with banana) That box is pretty rare. They also do a cereal - still sold today

No question that it's rare ..

But for that money you could have a beautifully lithographed H and P Fire Brigade tin.
Or a pretty decent enamel .

I guess " must have" sometimes overides  " I shouldn't do this "

Here's one of their nicer tins..recently sold for around 150 euro
