This very very rare and sought after Australian Golden Fleece sign was found in the local creek here in Gawler. Surprisingly retains very good colours and gloss on the undamaged areas....... looks even better after it's been brought back to life. It's the first time I've used proffesional restorer Christine Lewis and probably won't be the last. Gordo

As I know so little about signs, could you give me a ball-park before and after valuation of this sign. Are sign collectors perfectly happy with restored signs? I know if a tin was 'touched up', it would almost devalue it!

I definetly don't believe that the sign has been devalued by the restoration, I know plenty of guys who are keen to get their hands on it. As to what it may be worth restored, I couldn't tell you, an auction would be the only way to find out. I have only seen one other in the flesh in 17 years of collecting, that sold in an old garage clearing sale for AU$2,500, that was 15 years ago!!

great repair, he was lucky with the letters he needed to copy being fine in certain places.

 Gordo, I sold a similarly restored Golden Fleece Summit sign years ago . I could have bought a small country with the proceeds .
