One of the biggest problems I have with buying larger signs from the USA, seems to be the ridiculous freight charges I keep getting quoted. I was interested in bidding on this Gulf sign 5x3 feet, until I got the quote of $2,500 to get it to Australia. You could literally buy it a ticket on the plane and still save a bundle, am I missing something??? Gordo

G'day Gordo,

An interesting yarn that one and so I'll tell one against myself.

Recently I agrred to buy a Cooper's dip sign from a decent bloke in South Africa. I just said to hime you post it Via TNT and Ill fix you up. The sign was 30 inches by 20 inches so not real big. He did as I asked and the postage price came to $650.00. Natuarally I was aghast.

I had previously had one sent from South Africa via TNT and the price was very reasonable so that is why I agreed this time. The South African Post Office would have done it for $250 which is dear enough but $650? BUYER BEWARE!

Regards, Gerorge Grant(Rustycutters)
