Found this Fruit Gum's sign, by chance, on Ebay, hidden away in the Art section. I think it is a wonderful image and being an original piece makes it pretty cool. All the seller could tell me was that it came from the York, Rowntree factory archives a few years ago and that it dates to the 1920's.

I am not sure how to go about framing it. I think it should be trimmed to roughly the same size as the last photo. That would get rid of all the blank space at the bottom and almost all the parts that have light staining. I would be interested to hear what others think.

I think trimming it Vlad will only affect its potential future value, and would be a shame. I would suggest having a border made to suit the original image you wish to see in a complimentary colour and include that as part of the framing process?

 agree with steve the tyke.

Can just hear them in 50 years, "great piece of artwork- but some numpty trimmed it"

Enjoy it, preserve it, but don't spoil it.  Hear endeth the sermon

I appreciate the feedback and I have put away the scissors. It really did seem like a good idea at the time because I wasn't removing any of the image.

Using cutoff jean shorts as an example, this is the way I saw trimming it.

This is the way you guys saw trimming it.
