just goi back from one of the best days of my life , fantastic Auction, ,whatelse ADVERTISING MIRRORS,

bought three totallly original , rare items A 6FT by 30 inches Higsons Cavalier , a 6ft by 24 inches original Taddys Mirror , and an acid eteched , huge Players mirror 52 inche by 42 inches ,

I believe all three are pre first world war Mirrors , the fact they are in such fantastic nick, is down to the man whoose Museum was selling up

anyone with ant extra information on any of these , would be pleased to hear it

am always interested in any Ogdans Mirros , and if the guy who bought the Ogdens Guinea Gold Barometer/thermometer, is reading this , any chance of buying it back

Hi Lynne,
I was at the sale too. Congratulations on your purchases. The mirror is Hignetts not Higsons by the way. Put some pics up to show the other members.
Lets have a mirror thread based on this.
Cheers for posting,
Jez.

Hi LynneMirrors,

Congratulations on your mirror purchases. Viewed these on the auctioneers site and they looked super. However, it would be nice if you could post pictures for forum members to view.

Jez has suggested a mirror-thread and so will kick off with a couple of mine which I have posted before but always worth another look. Both Ogden's.

Hi AL,

Super quality mirrors. These two I have posted, found in situ whilst on holiday in Jersey last year . I know that one is a "Fry's" !!

A recent trip to the York museum found these mirror's in situ.

This museum is well worth a visit.

Another mirror and one of the best in my collection. I have shown it before.  "Butterfly" is a Hignett's brand introduced in 1907. It still has it's original manufacturer's label Forrest & Son, Glasgow. Does anyone else have one of these???
