 This is an old sign and I'm trying to figure out if it's porcelain.  I just can't quite tell.  Can someone help me to know or point me to a forum where people would know?

Looks enamel allright to me , but some of the sign blokes here will verify for you

Looking at that damage in the top RH corner it is definately made up of porcelain enamel.
