4..Walking from Portabella Rd at the age of 10 with my old man carrying 2 mint 5ft each Ogdens signs,all the way back to Euston train station and to be told by some jobs worth,,,"you cant bring those things on my train".. |

6. Hears of a must have tin outside a major city 850 km away
Calls the owner for details and is told that another collector is interested .
Jumps in the car and drives the 850 km non stop to buy the tin .
Drives 850 km back home with the tin on the passengers seat ( stroking it most of the way )
Arrives home and follows the instructions in point # 3 ( Jimbo ) of this thread.
This was before the advent of smart phones and online bank transfers

Forgets what he has. Is constantly surprised - "I thought I'd sold/swapped/lost that" by things in above mentioned shed, garage, collectors den. Has wife who by now has stopped saying "that looks like the other one you bought last week" who now just rolls her eyes and says thats nice love.... Despite all this still cant stop buying |
