Do you think these two signs are the same? The one I bought of Mr Smiley, of Luton, is the one screwed to the beam. And guess what? After I'd payed, it never appeared! Then two and a half years later, up it pops on ebay! I did call this person, who as per usual has stuck his head in the sand! Am I crazy or is it the same sign? I.e small chips under the last E and S. What a sh*t bag!! Deal with this person at your peril!

Just a word to hopefully stop an honest collector getting stuffed by this low life.

All the best, Dave B!

No suprise DAVE

Just like the pair of two fingerplates I ' bought ' off him about 6 years ago on ebay

Mysteriously the vendor had sold one between 10 in the morning and my 12 o'clock winning bid

Magically two months later he must have bought it back because he had the same pair !!

I know of loads of other cases with this ' person ' so no matter what, I just won't deal with him

Waste of space !!

Is it MR SMILEY Dave ? I think you have your letters mixed up....... MR SLIMEY surely !!

Gentlemen,

Under normal circumstances, I would not respond to the above, however as in both cases I have been named and we have reached the point where we are close to 'defamation' of character, I felt that I should post a response.

In the case of the first post, prior to throwing stones and suggesting that my response to you was to 'stick my head in the sand', can I suggest that rather than posting the above you took the time to actually reply to the three emails that I sent you over the last three days, or respond to the telephone answering machine message that I left for you, then maybe I could assist you !

With regard to the latter, I really do not know what you are talking about, if you were the high bidder at auction close, then I am sure that you would have been successful in buying the item.

So I make an offer to you, or anyone who frequents this site and has an issue with me, or any action that I have taken and wishes to resolve it in an amicable and mutually agreeable way.

Please kindly have the courtesy to contact me on any of the following methods; garysmylie@hotmail.co.uk, landline 01582 742423 Mobile 07769 264944,  in advance of posting potential defamatory remarks.

Mr Smylie, the fact of the matter is I bought this sign off this site some time ago. I payed your wife a check on your request and the sign never came, on inquiry, you said it had been posted, signed for. I never received the item and I did talk to you about it at the time and never received any information if it's whereabouts. On the appearance of the same item on ebay I contacted you and asked for the item that I purchased two and a half years ago. if you have any doubt that the two pictures are different please contact me, if not, lets stop talking an utter load of bullshit and give me the item that I payed for. As for your pompous load of twaddle i.e. 'defamation of character' I remember defending your character on this very site, more fool me. If you want to resolve this matter, you will deliver the sign to me as soon as possible. You have my address and i would appreciate a response, one way or the other.

Thanks for your response, I would have preferred that you contacted me directly and preferably without the swearing and vitriol,  however no worries.

So,  as per my previous communications, if you would kindly let me have details of the payment, date amount etc. then I will hapilly seek to resolve this matter immediately.

I look forward to receiving the above

Gary

Gary, are you saying that I did not buy this sign off you off this site? If I did could you please send it to me as soon as possible? If you do not recall the transaction can you look back onto this sites archive type in 'sweets' and see what comes up. As you well know I made the check out to your wife, Angela Smylie and it was cashed! So if you have any intention of giving me this item, do so. Don't give me a load of old rubbish.

I really don't know what you're going on about. you had it for sale, I payed. Therefore it's mine. If you don't understand this concept don't ever go to the shops.

If you have any intention of sending me my item please do. Otherwise, can you stop making ridiculous comments an d wasting my time Gary. I await some sort of response.

Gary, is there any doubt that this sign that we are discussing was sold to me, by you, on this site? If not can you look at the pictures? And can you have a reality check? I am sure that no one wants to be bored by this matter any longer, so lets cut the crap. If you think I am trying to rip you off could you please state the matter, so that everyone can form their own conclusions.

P.S I am very sorry for boring every person on this site as all of the people I have dealt with have been great and totally trustworthy.

Thanks for response, absolutely no doubt that both pictures are of the same sign. the problem i have is that i cannot see where and how you paid for the sign, so merely asking for details and confirmation of that.

once received, I will then resolve or remedy any anywrongdoing if it has occured.

OK - Now found details in respect of said email and it refers to the purchase by yourself  of a Wills Gold Flake Sign via ebay item number 320514683758 for which you paid £60.00 plus P & P and subsequently left the following feedback

5 star Buyer: 01-May-10 19:35
Original Wills Gold Flake Enamel Sign (#320514683758) £60.00

Therefore do not see how this relates to the above.

Gary
