I came across this hanging in a local boozer. I couldn't make out what it's made of. The face appeared to be glass or similar, not enamel? I seem to recall it was an inch or so thick in old money!

Hi Ducati,
They're slate backed, glass covered. The insets are usually enamelled. Nice thing. Theres a bloke in Surrey with a boozer that collects these, called Gus. I cant recall the pub name but its in Lingfield.

Careful thats right in Gravyboys back yard. Is there anywhere you don't get to or know about. He had loads of signs in that pub but I think they've nearly all gone. Dave will Know

I sold the guy a slate backed sign a couple of years back. Also an old mucker of mine from up North lives in Lingfield !
But you're right I'm all over the place - like a bad rash! Currently in Belgium!
