I've had a report that 17 enamel signs were stolen one night last week from a garden in a village near York. I have listed the details below as best as possible. If you have seen them or been offered them I would appreciate you contact me via this forum in the first instance. This is a genuine case so no p*** takes please. I know they are not the world's rarest but they are (were) someone's pride & joy nevertheless.Thanks, Steve.

1. Portrait approx. 20" x 60" Cadbury's (written in an arc) Cocoa absolutley pure therefore best Always ask for "Cadbury's" white writing on blue good condition.

2. Landscape approx. 60" x 18" Rowntree's Chocolates makers to HM King & Queen Coats of Arms in each corner white on blue with yellow border chip on bottom edge below the R & O of rowntrees otherwise good condition.

3. Landscape approx. 24" x 36" Archibald Ramsden Pianos Leeds and London branch Huntriss Row, Scarborough chips between A & L of ARCHIBALD and in LEEDS yellow on blue generally good condition.

4. Landscape 36" x 27" Sunlight Soap £1000 pictorial fading to washerwoman and writing on packet chips through washerwoman panel and below second and third £1000 and above last 0. White on blue with yellow border.

5. Landscape approx. 48" x 18" OXO pictorial Its meat and drink to you big chip above LH cube and small chip on RH cube white on blue with red border.

6. Landscape approx. 24" x 15" Husons Soap lantern PE & S (not cut- out) chips to edges and between S & O of soap multi-coloured.

7. Landscape Agent for Foyles 2d Library flange cut-off no chips.

8. Landscape 12" x 36" approx. "Golden Shred" chip on top border above S of SHRED yellow writing on red.

9. Portrait 20" x 30" approx. Railway Passenger Assurance Company (later style) chips/loss around borders and a bit faded.

10. Landscape 12" x 36"approx. Drink Tizer the Appertizer two chips between T & I of TIZER red/blue on yellow good condition.

11. Landscape 24" x 18" Borwicks Baking Powder losses around edge white on blue.

12. Landscape 12" x 15" approx. Farrow's A1 Mustard poss. double-sided, chip on the top of F of FARROW'S and losses to LH edge blue/red on yellow.

13. Portrait 20" x 30" approx. YOU buy a Hercules cycle pictorial with flat cap bloke and cycle. Big rusted chips to centre mounting holes & top right corner. Predominently orange on yellow.

14. Landscape 18" x 30" approx. Spratts Bird Seeds in packets and tins only shadow writing two chips on BIRD and edge chipping white on red plus white borders top and bottom.

15. Landscape 9" x 24" approx. Brooke Bond's Tea chip top RH corner and below B & R of BROOKE Blue on white.

16. Landscape 15" x 24" approx. Gossages Dry Soap two chips to R of ships wheel and big chip below G of GOSSAGES and other minor chips. Multi-coloured.

17. Landscape 18" x 12" Colman's Starch / cardboard boxes blue on white 3 chips along LH edge + loss top RH corner.

Details are only off old photos I've been handed so descriptions are as best as I can explain.

There are some lowlife sh*ts out there.
Likewise will keep my eyes open at the antique/collectors fairs round Kent.

I better load a couple of colts,,and lock the gates,The enamel world is small someone will see them steve.I WILL COPY THIS LIST AND CARRY IT IN MY VAN.

Indeed there was, and a Colman's Starch / cardboard boxes sign of the same size was in that sale, but it had been in the auctioneers office for many weeks previously, and I had seen it there personally during that time, so it is not the same one.
