Nice to see an original trestle sign complete, as on the odd occasions when they do turn up, the signs often get removed, being difficult to display. I heard of a trestle which had a mint Batey's John Bull on one side, and on the other the list of Batey's minerals! This too was dismantled, which I always thought was tragic!

The fantastic cherry blossom cut out bootboy enamel that was fixed to the inside wall behind the counter of the cobblers shop in Holborn was originally part of a massive trestle A board stand that was put out the front of the shop daily.I first discovered the sign as a teenager and used to pop in and chat to the owner whenever possible...he told me that taking the stand out was the first thing he and the shop holder next door would do each day...this was apparently before the war and he remembers there being one of the signs each side....must have weighed a ton !
