I thought I would have a bit of fun and try and flush out an Elliman's embrocation sign on the US ebay. I put up a picture, had a buy it now price of $1, and wrote in the listing that "Please note I am NOT selling this sign, the pictured sign is not mine, just an example of what I am looking for. Please feel free to contact me if you have one that you want to list, or do a buy it now price"

The first response came quickly that I can't do that and that he has reported me to ebay. Then someone clicks the buy it now tab??? Yeah !!! sure mate I'm selling it for $1, read the listing.

Come on I'm ready for all the wowsers to let me have it.

Gordo

Who are these jobsworths that report people to Ebay. Were they the weasely kids at school constantly telling teacher? Are they the little shit in the pub with big nutter mates around who starts all the trouble. I (and I expect others) had the same experience with Ebay when I put a sign down as NOT enamel. Some tosspot sent me a message saying much the same. I invited him to go ahead, Ebay took no action apart from explaining that you can only say what something is, not what something is not so to speak. So Gordo you've done nowt wrong and I wish you good luck in your hunt for the Ellimans. Jez.

Allan, I also thought that thinking outside the square may be worth the effort, not so sure now. I'm now waiting for the head mistress to tell me off for being a bad boy.

I wonder Jez if this these same ebay cops, complain to ebay about the fraudsters claiming their signs are originals, as they remove the next batch, freshly from the kiln.

At the end of the day my obsession made me do it, it's a disease I tell you!!!!

I keep on getting told off for selling fire extinguishers.

there is an American firefighter who scans the auction continuously looking for potentially dangerous items.
