Leyland Line cigarette tin-Frederick Leyland was a partner in the firm Bibby Bros and started his own company in 1873 when 21 of Bibby BVro's ships were transferred to the new company. They ran fast regular weekly services from Liverpool to Boston and New Orleans. These tins contained 25 cigarettes and were hand made by W.Ariel Gray of Liverpool. It also has a stiker back. The shipping theme tins make a super collection.

Cook Jnr: The "Night & Morning" was a 50 but sadly gone to a new home.

 Hi Cook Jnr,

Yes! I am thinning out my collection as a result of downsizing and for medical reasons. I am trying to see if I can find a buyer for the whole shop with or without contents. I am still continuing to collect tins as they are smaller items. So, if you know of anyone interested in setting up a shop and looking for original Victorian fixtures & fittings,  tell them to get in touch but no time wasters please.

It's sad to hear when someone's letting a collection go, especially when it can be described as a 'shop'!!

We probably wouldn't be able to match the dealers on here, but if you do choose to thin the tin side of the collection, it'd be nice to make you an offer on a few. Email me directly if you do.

Keep furnishing us with your knowledge though, Bacco.
