Never seen one before, so it must be a rare thing and a great thing but what is an Ariel Simplex?
Best Regards Richard

Its an early car. The pic at the top. Ariel still exist and make the open Atom car, featured on Top Gear. I think its rare too!

Might well be moving it on. Major problems with our new extension means nowhere for it yet. Bloody banks....

Hi Jezmond,

The Ariel Atom you refer to is actually nothing to do with the original Ariel motor company that started out in the late 19th century selling bicycles, before moving onto cars and motorcycles. The company sadly ceased to trade under its own name after being taken over by BSA in the mid sixties. As a `real` Ariel aficionado I would be very pleased if you were to offer me first refusal on your clock if you are moving it on.

Many thanks,

Reece

Forgot to mention, the Ariel Simplex was a car produced by Ariel Motors Ltd of Selly Oak Birmingham from around 1906 to 1910.

Thanks for the info Reece. I just assumed they were one and the same or indeed someone using an old car brand for a new motor. Jez.
