march 2010

i went to have a look a  potential site, and an old allopment where i remember seeing a small alllopment society enamel sign a few years ago. heres the pics...

Photobucket

Photobucket

i gave up on the lotty as the little signs no longer where it was last time i was there

so i went to this place i noticed on the way to the allopments, id driven past it many times before but had not noticed it before as its behind a hedge and is normally covered by the leaves. it was a rite struggle to climb into as the entrance is pilled high with wood,

Photobucket

finally got in and it looked as if it had been untouched and unexplored for quite a while

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

hello hello!

Photobucket

a few more,  one with the lable in good condition

Photobucket

Photobucket

...beautifull...

Photobucket

i managed to work my way thru all the wood to climb out the back of the shed and have a look round the edges

Photobucket

Photobucket

lets get a better look

Photobucket

had a lot of wood to move... note the red plastic pillar near the fence

Photobucket

but got there in the end

its a bit rusty but its mine all mine

and i love it

Photobucket

Photobucket

started finding loads of milks

then eventually found a tip

Photobucket

altho a tad bit late!

Photobucket

i got this oil bottle, i have never heard of this brand before, have you? please help.

Photobucket

April 2010

went back the next day to finish it off

Photobucket

found a few more milks on the walk to the tip

Photobucket

it's funny what you can work out about the people by digging the tip,  there was quite a few boot polish tins in there. There was also quite a few metal screw caps for baby food at the one end of the tip but then at the other end these had fazzed out to be replaced by tizers and corona's.... kids got a bit older perhaps?   there was also a lot of gordons gins in there but yet again there was a lot more at the one end, the same end as the corona's so perhaps the kid(s) turn the farther into a alcoholic

Photobucket

Photobucket

this was a funny shape for a tip, i thought it was a old filled in ditch that would run quite a length but it wasn't and was just a weird shaped tiny tip! so coming to terms with the fact that id almost finished it and probably wasn't going to get anything and also the fact that the best bottle i dug was fookin smashed... id lost a bit of motivation  especially as id hit the wet end, but then out of the water i just caught sight of the corner of an enamel i was over the moon to say the least and thanked the tip gods for saving me the best till last
