i must be a geek too then cus i find some of the backs just as interesting as the fronts, after all theres two sides to every sign. ive been wanting to get a little cheap sign with an interesting back to be framed back to front!

heres a crap pic of the back of my lyons tea, i like the hand print,  theres also the outlines of two boxes? was it the support for the bloke glossing the back of it..  if that even happened?

cheers

Hello to everyone,

Just thought I'd throw my two bobs worth in with this sublect. I have a Climax Cattle and Sheep dip sign that came from Liverpool and made by Falkirk Iron Company. Very thick and heavy enamel and by far the heaviest sign that I have. Whether that is a fault I am not sure but nice to have just the same.

An interesting tree design on the back which I certainly have never seen before,

Regards, George Grant (Rustycutters)

In all honesty I should be the last person assigning the madness label to anyone. Look at my Naga headhunter thread and it is clear I am operating outside of the classic definition of normal.

Anyhow, normal is boring and I am always looking for ways to increase my weird factor so I have made a decision. In the movie Star Wars, Darth Vader invites Luke Skywalker to join him on the dark side. Granted, nobody has invited me but I have decided to dabble in the dark art of collecting enamels.

I now have 3 smaller pieces but last week I obtained this large Canadian cigarette sign at a show I was set up at. It measures just short of 4 feet tall and weighs a ton. What the hell do I do with it? It would tear the wall down with it's weight and it clashes with my headhunter so it looks like it is going to the garage. It should be noted that I sold one of my Inuit whalebone carvings for $200 Canadian dollars and bought this for the exact same amount.
