Would anyone be able to help me with any information on this sign that I have been offered? I know it's not a very clear picture as it's a photo of the photo that I have been given...

It measures about 5'6" x 2'6" apparently.

I would love to know it's age and a rough idea of it's worth ?

 Really?

That is disappointing, the guy selling it wanted £200 and I was going to offer £130.

Thanks for your opinion.

It's hard to tell the actual condition from the photo. If most of those marks are paint that will clean off, and it's still got a good gloss, then that's not so bad, although it is quite large! I think it's interest would have to be as a local item, and even if it were in good condition, and it was a local item to me, I don't think I'd want to go much more than £100 to £120. Ultimately though, it depends how much you want it, but £200 seems pretty steep to me, but I guess it's what you might see it for sale for in an antiques shop!

Yes, according to the owner most of the black marks are some sort of paint/gunk that will clean off.

I cannot seem to find when DTJ Lyle and Sons were a company but know that they existed in Bexley near London from an old photograph taken in 1920.
When the factory was built would be a good pointer..?

I don't want to sell it

I'm wondering whether to buy it for £130 or not
I'm only a novice when it comes to collecting enamels, do you think it's worth the money banjo boy??

It is a fair old size.
