These were spotted on a stable block in the Scottish Borders at the weekend, within part of a large farmstead built in 1856. Consecutive years 1896,1897 & 1898 on the shields. Looks like they've been there since then. They are the large size too.

+ if you are driving along the A6091 Melrose by-pass the new road has been built through the old railway station yard. The station buildings are preserved and enamel signs a-plenty are displayed along the platform canopy roof. Sorry couldn't stop for pictures this time, but I'll be back, as Arnie says.

Cheers Steve,

Only seen one Victiorian version before, The wording on these earlier versions cracks the puzzle that they were definitely Horse breeding. Interesting the way the leaves change colour each year. Heres my later one. Always been one of my favourite non - advertising signs
