 Hi again

Here is another sign from the same stable as the last two. It is approx 18" x 1 foot

It is for Carter Paterson and Co Carriers. It has a damage patch under the P of Paterson and patches to the side of the "S" of Carriers.

The sign is a much darker green than in the photo. It also says "Palmers Green" in the bottom right border.

I would really welcome information on the approximate age of this sign, how its condition should be described and value in this condtion and in perfect conditon, please?

TIA

Hello Vigman,,its quite a common enamel sign and not a very interesting looking sign, im sorry to say..Ide date it 1920s? The condition is what ide call good 7 out of 10..Value ide say £40 quid..People on here may tell you different,,this is yust my opinion..Bang it Ebay at 99p start no reserve..Hope this helps Spence..

 Thanks, Spence

Actually paid the charity £40 for it hoping for £50-£60.

Out of interest I just found this page from an auction site where a similar sign (in good condition) was estimated at 60-70 gbp but actually fetched 220gbp! It is Lot no 202 on the page.

However, our mutual railway enthusiast friend has offered me my money back and unless anyone can really better this in the next day or two, I will let him have it.

Cheers

I believe the firm was part-owned by the Great Western Railway. You may achieve a better price by putting it into a specialist railway auction, if desired
