This Robsons removals sign just finished on ebay. It's quite a nice sign, but 9000 pounds???  It's not that nice !!

Something's very fishy when it jumps from £860 to £8,900 in one leap. Way above its market value in my opinion, but as we all know from the Canterbury sale, it just takes two!! Wonder if its off to Singapore?

hey Gordo that number is not working for me.
I know exactly how this jump in price happens as I have seen it often. It arises when 2 people are seriously watching the same sign.
In this case they see the sign almost finished at 860 and they really want the sign bad so they have their snipe bid set at 10000 They are expecting the last bid to finish at say 2000 in the last few seconds and know if their snipe bid is going of with 2 seconds left at 10000 they will win the sign at the next increment of say 2100 but the problem is that someone else had the same idea and had their snipe bid set at 8500 to try and do the exact same thing then the first snipe bid goes off with 6 seconds left and then the final snipe bid goes off with 4 seconds left and bang hits the 8500 bid and has to immediately jump to the next increment of 8900. He has won the sign but F##K me gets the surprise of his life--David

Both the big bids came in on Christmas Eve afternoon, so I don't think they were sniped with 5 days still to run. May be a couple of folk out there were desperate for a last sign pressie for Xmas !!!

Will it be one of the Ebay specials where the buyer doesn't turn up or changes his mind once he gets a proper look?

10 of the buyers last 13 bids have been 'signs'! And the under-bidder also shows a fair proportion of signs in his bids, so this might suggest they were just two serious collectors with deep pockets, chasing it!
