just bec i would not pay the seller's asking price.

i like to share my communication with the seller and reply him at this forum. let you be the judge if i should continue collecting.

Seller's email, quote "

I have to decline. This piece is better than the other one and I did not increase the price for courtesy sake.
You must not always consider (deleted...) Currency when buying, sometimes when I buy signs I have to pay in USD or Euro dollars and not (deleted....) dollars. If you are not able to pay this amount then may I suggest you stop collecting because in the later days you may be disappointed in collecting signs, I was told that (Deleted ....) and (deleted....) are now coming to (deleted.....) antiques shops to buy signs. Sorry, but I have to give some reality. If you are new in collecting, PLEASE GIVE UP. I can finds lots of items that you requested but at the price you are giving me I better not, I will be wasting my time. I have to be honest with you on this," Unquote

I have deleted the currency and country as i do not want to directly name or link the seller bec i believed in giving someone a 2nd chance. But you know who you are.

And my reply, Quote"
I think you are offended by my offer but I still i think it is a fair offer, judging from the last transacted price on ebay. In fact, i offered more than the last ebay transacted price plus shipping. Dont tell me you bought that sign to sell it to me!.

Whatever the case, you as a 'senior' collector or broker should not discourage me or anyone NEW from collecting, PLEASE DONT DO THAT. Are you telling everyone, only people who can pay your asking price can collect?. Remember you offered to 'help' and is not like I confirmed a deal and back down from it.

I may not be your type of buyer but they are others who is willing to help. FYI,  i will not pay big money for items which I can still find in my country. I rather hunt and take it slow, why rush and that the fun out of buying. And i think i will be a better judge on what i can find in my country, right?.

And I will only pay price which i can afford. Also fyi, I have bought items from USA, UK, Singapore and Australia so i am not so new. My collection may not or will not match what you have (actually not sure what you have) but then again i am not starting a museum, is just my hobby.

Lastly, yes pls stop wasting your time on me bec I not your type of buyer. Like you, I have to be honest with you on this." Unquote.

Honestly I am not being cycnical in posting my reply here. If i am, i would have named the person. I just could not stand it when this seller asked me stop collecting and GIVE UP in capital letter just bec i wont pay the price he is asking for.

AL,

If you think this posting is inappropriate please delete.

But to newbie collectors, dont be discouraged or intimidated by seller or anyone. There is still a bargain out there somewhere. And if you dont have the budget, just take your time and enjoy the hunt.

I have had similiar experiences with sellers telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about, when it came to the prices they were asking on their signs. At the end of the day you just have to laugh, when you see those same dealers carting those same signs across the country side for years, asking the same reasonable price??

Hi Gordo,

Yes, similar situation everywhere but I reckon is part of the trade which personally I can accept it till I was asked to GIVE UP.

Seller still sending me email.

Quote "
Eric,
I read the articles on the UK website, you want to give me a second chance? Who are you? Almighty God?
If this sign is available in ebay why don't you buy it in the first place?

I think the day I stop collecting, will be the same day that I've got an appointment at the morgue.
