For some reason I have been able to obtain a few US tea tins in the past few weeks. They are by no means spectacular or rare but they are in remarkable condition and should be interesting to some AA members.

The following two tins are different only in their base colour. They were produced by Ginna of New York in the 1890's and I think there is also a yellow version that I am now looking for. They are made of extremely heavy tin and have a thick coat of paint on them which is why they still look so good for 120 years old.

This tin with it's bold colours celebrates the Boston Tea Party where the Americans tossed large amounts of tea into Boston harbour to protest British taxation.

This tin is a little later than the previous examples. I think it is from circa 1930. It is not a rare tin but I have always liked it's large size and exotic imagery. What really makes this specific tin stand out is it's incredible condition. It is as close to mint as I have ever seen or think I will ever see in the future. Anyone else think this one looks more British than American?

This last one is also in excellent condition and comes from 1911. It is a Canadian example and shows how closely we were tied to Britain back then. Even now, about half of Canadians still identify with Britain but sadly that is changing due to the large amounts of immigrants coming in from non European countries. Some say we are creating a new identity but I think I am living in one of the most culturally confused countries in the world. Anyhow here is my Canadian tea tin honouring our roots.

These two cocoa tins are recent finds. Didn't want to start a new thread so I'm just adding them to the tea tin thread. Anyhow, the Canadian tin is from The Ocean Blend Tea Company and the French Ovitine tin is an egg and cocoa concoction.

The Canadian tin is in great condition for such an early tin and even though the French tin is quite simple I thought the graphics were very eye catching and colourful.
