Hi Fellas,
I've just sunk my teeth into a nice brew from Penpont Brewery out of the UK. It is unlike any other beer i have ever tried as it is aged in Oak Wine Casks from a bordeaux vineyard.
It's appearance has a delightful somewhat roasted carmael colour. A frothy head with a very complex with a wonderful slightly tannic body along with hints of leather mixed with tobacco and strawberry. There are suttle overtones of a summer field meadow along with a little bit of fall harvest all built into one. All in all a splendid ale worth a taste.
A rare bird in thes parts of Canada, but was worth the investment.
