We're already preparing for another big 'opener' here for the New Year - catalogue to bed…. Sat & Sunday offerings look super duper, stalls already up on last year….. promising kick start for another exciting Elsecar 12 months.

Happy Xmas to all before - we're having a well earned rest over the festive season, ready & enthused for the Jan 31/ Feb 1 w/e…..

The bumper full colour catalogue is out (& its arrived in all the 'far flung' places it goes to)….. bids already coming in thick and fast too - lots and lots of interest. It goes online @ the-saleroom.com up to 2 weeks prior if you don't wish to fork out for the printed product!

Sunday sales stalls are swelling fast - only 2 more w/e's - if you aint booked - "skates" & "on" spring to mind - HURRY!!!

Meanwhile, we've another 50-60 lots to finalise the BIG 500 lot Saturday Entirely Unreserved Auction offering - an interesting array of late entries (well, very late) have trickled in over the holiday period - all good stuff, ALL there to sell - bargains galore!!!!

PS: Have you booked 'Encore'?

BBR is hoping for up to 150 stalls to kick start the New Year off at Elsecar on Sunday 1st February making a journey from anywhere in the UK (& overseas) well worth while. The show itself is just part of the w/e - held the day after the BIG 500+ lot Unreserved Auction on Saturday 31st.

This week we got 2 BRAND NEW stallholders from 'down South', plus a bit of a 'surprise' of an 'old hand' reappearing (he says "plenty of fresh stock") after many years absence. Well over the 100+… and the "usual" late stragglers to say they forgot to book until, lol!!!!

Meanwhile, adverts are already out in the Antique Trade Calendar (full page), Antiques Trade Gazette next week (= £ 'ouch'), full page in ABC magazine (yes, ABC mag), & many other local/ National newspapers. I strive forever to push/ promote our events to an ever wider public - the main intent… draw them in/ win them over! As long as the support is there from stallholders and the ever growing band of Early Entrants (the shows are regularly akin to a SummerNational) I will constantly stretch the advertising 'spend' budget to its limit.

Compared to general Antiques Fairs our events present far more genuine antiques, & (fairly uniquely) so much local/ regional material than other collectables do.

Await BBR magazine (posted the week before the Show) for some BIG BBR NEWS - we are going forward in a major way!!!!!!!!!!!

Clare and me call this the MANIC week - 5 more sleeps before the first of BBR's BIG w/e events ….. lots to do/ sort/ move/ prepare - stall booking confirmations are in the post already.

Weather. Elsecar rarely gets more than a smattering of snow in the valley here - you may see it on the hills above the motorway, but never a worry for us - just a few minutes off the M1, down the hill, Country Kitchen open for early arrivals for a bacon sarnie and hot drink ….

The Saturday 500+ lot Unreserved Auction pdf should be finished today, I will post it on here & all other forums/ FB etc ……. plenty for everyone!!

One more sleep…. so today is last day of preparation…..

Have no idea how many Zafiras full of David Burtons books we have to carry over to Blg 21 for collection…… bit of an extra job, to say the least?

Anyone with the book already he will be here Sunday and can personalise volume 1 if you bring it along!

Footnote: roads around Elsecar are FINE - even the Woodhead is open this morning after that little 'flurry' yesterday morning.
