Anyone know how rare this is?

Unusual for a codd to be dated - 1901.

Al.

I have only ever seen this patent vatiation from Philpott of Ramsgate, and sold my 10oz one earlier this year.Over the years I guess I've seen between 5 and 10, so a reasonably rare bottle I guess. Price for a good example would normally be £50 to £70.

Hi Al
the Philpott Dobsons are rare in a small 6oz size with only about a handful recorded but we dug scores in the 10oz size in the early 2000s which bought the prices right down to about £10 each, we have sold a few recently for about £25.00 and I have seen a few on stalls for £40 plus so they are on the up I guess, there is also a Philpott reliance bulb which is also rare we only found 1 whole example which went to Jim Bell. The same thing happened with the Margate Reeve & Co Dumpy GBs they used to get £80 each untill we hit a horad of approx 80-100 now they struggleto sell
cheers
