Used to like the Donnington Advertising Fair,     I thought it had stopped because the venue was no longer available  ?

Arthur Swallow has a fair there this month ??

yup, it's true& Barry Potter has scheduled his toy fairs for the coming year there. We need someone to step up to the plate & run an advertising show.

For what it's worth, they will get my support & and any help I can give them. I know Godfather Steve will also back & help anyone who fancies trying.

I did ask Mr Blakeman if he'd be up for it, he considered it for a second, I think it would be great if he would reconsider.

Good thread Lummox, you are almost forgiven, cheers Rusty

It would be great to have the Donnington advertising show back again. It would need to be organized by one of the top dedicated dealer/collector to bring it really back to life again.

Maybe it may be worthwhile a few people getting together to see if something could be done jointly. I could help with promotion, could get hold of a mailing list I would have thought and do an eflyer to get the word around. There must be people amongst the fraternity that know about insurance, health and safety etc. Must be worth a few quid to someone who could pick it up and get it sorted.

I am sure quite a few of us would help with promoting and sites like this would also be invaluable. What is needed is someone with the drive, guts, and expertise to have a go.

I thought the collectors fair moved on to Bretby? I presume this has fallen by the wayside now ? I know it was very poorly advertised.

I was more meaning getting other dealers to stall that perhaps don't look at the forum. Getting the bookings would be the decider, the last shows only had enough stalls to fill a fraction of the space taken in the early years. It may be better combining the collectors fair with the toy fair?

SORRY THREE HOURS ON THE ROAD FOR A LOAD OF FLUFFY TOYS, CERAMIC DOGS AND PONIES IS NOT FOR ME. IT HAS TO BE ON THE SAME LINE AS ELSECAR FOR ME OR NOTHING.

I would support it, help organise it and do everything in my power to promote it.

Who's going to front man it though?

If it was for next year I would take the dive, but too much on to do anything this year. Maybe someone else wants to pick a date next year and nail their colours to the mast?

Donnington was best when it only had 2 dates, think one was November and the other around Easter.
