This is a bit boring but "Beggers Can't be choosers" and there's no bigger begger than me !

A friend who owns a very ratty old barn let me have a look around recently before it's converted - i found this in the roof  and it was covered in dirt (of all kinds !!!!!) I was anticipating something good given the condition of the back .........But it's just a splashback !

- it turns out his father had been given about a dozen from an old ironmongers in different colours sometime in the 50's to fix the roof.............I didn't find any more but when it's converted  I'm going to have another look

Ok for a Sign collector with a wife who likes "Art Nouveau" or even "Mackintosh"

I think there may be a market for these.

I haven't found it but I have seen some pretty steep prices at fairs over the years.

In which case there may be an "instant Collection" for someone if I find the other 11 - one apparently is pink !

I suppose they are bought by the "Kitchenalia" people for display with Pine and old china and Lace and other dust collecting boring junk  - why can't they collect tins/enamels !

Hi Parian, It looks good, not my sort of thing, but maybe just what I need for the wife. If i can get her into this, some of my collection may be allowed out of the attic/shed. I'd be interested in buying this & others if & when they're for sale. I could pick up ast Beaulieu or other.

I have tried to reply via the personal Messages - but it won't let me !

I only bought this as I hoped that should anything else turn up the Farmer (or hopefully any other of his Farmer  friends who may have something ) would think of me !

I paid £40 for it  - would it be any good  for that  ?

Thanks

Many Thanks Al

Not only did you collect this enamel from parian & lug it down to Beaulieu, you also had the goodness to dash off to your van miles away to fetch it for me,leaving loads of cash wielding punters at your stall in the meantime. Above & beyond, very much appreciated. Very nearly felt grateful enough to buy your superb tin soda sign, but not quite, don't suppose you had to take that home though.

Good enamel parian, thanks for that, not quite sure the wife fully appreciates it yet, seems to expect me to erect an outside sink for it. If all else fails, I can paint a cig pack on it & pretend it's a proper sign. Still interested in any others if they emerge.
