Notice something odd about these two? Look at the bid history. This is the kind of farce that ebay has become. Something here stinks.

This happened a few months ago on a couple of items and I pointed out all the details to ebay. It was so blatent that you would have to be an idiot not to belive it. Well ebay ignored me and said that it was a buyer happy to keep on dealing with a reliable seller..... |

Yep, Looks like the seller has 2 or 3 accounts or ' friends ' ! One bid of £100 + on one account and then another at £100 within less than a couple of minutes to push it up but make sure no one gets a bargain.
Still its cost him £20 in fees unless he's got nerves of steel and cancels the 2 sales.
Interestingly the self same type Bonzo tin was the first item I ever sold on ebay bout 8 or 9 years ago. Bought it at a carboot for £11 ( WISH I'D KEPT IT !!! ) and about 10 weeks later a mate of mine said " just seen a tin like yours on ebay go for £240 !! "
Mine was better so thinking I'd find another I put it on. It was £87 with about 1 minute to go, ended up at £411 !! & no scamming !!!! Mad !!

The Bonzo tin went on Sunday morning, and already had 3 bids on it when I saw it early in the afternoon, the tobacco tin went on in the afternoon. Both tins were isted for 7 and 5 days respectively. So it's obvious what happened, some b*st*rd made an offer to the seller on both of them, bid and then as the highest bidder was declared the "winner" and the auctions stopped.
I'm heartily sick of this, it's going on all the time now. As soon as anything half decent goes on for auction, someone is making offers to the seller to stop the auction. |

I think last minute bidding has exacerbated the problem. I have items with 60 watchers and nobody will even put a holding bid of 99p on them. No wonder people jump at the chance of a private sale. Al. |

I can't seem to get any hits on eBay searching with those numbers; one's got nothing and the other's a bit of fabric!! Anybody post a couple of images so I know what we've all missed? Cooks. |

I'm not sure why but the auction numbers that Camwal listed are different from the other day when this thread started.
One of the original numbers was 2005 1624 8466.
It now shows as 2005 1264 8466.
The middle numbers have been switched. ODD??
Somebody edited those original numbers because they were correct when this thread started. Something's rotten here? |

Hello Vlad,
I've just noticed that as well, couldn't make out at first why the numbers wouldn't work. They've obviously been doctored, but who by? Are we to assume that the scammer is actually a forum member? |

So we've now got a real mystery? I certainly didn't change them, and I don't think Al would lie about it, what would be the point, and besides he's an honest genuine sort of bloke. Anyway, as he says he only discovered the thread late on. But someone's fiddled with them. |
