This is one I've not seen before. Shame about the condition though. (Seen on Facebook, and it's for sale, if anyone fancies a project!)

Well I'm not one for restoration, but that one would be well worth the effort and would be a great one when completed.

Hi Jez,

Christopher Frogley posted them a few days ago on the Bottle Diggers and Collectors' page.

Don't waste your time. Find a skip or re-cycle at the local council metal dump.

Can someone please start a separate forum for all the people on here who just criticise signs that are in bad condition?
It's so boring/unimaginative!
Yes it's smashed up but it's still interesting to see.
Sometimes damage on signs can add to their visual appeal - this one is very far gone but it's very interesting to see.
All this "it's a load of rubbish"/"chuck it away"/"wouldn't give you 10p for it" stuff is just dull.

If you're seriously interested in enamel signs, I would have thought this would be of interest (and I don't mean 'of interest to buy'!) It doesn't mean you have to have it and put it on your wall; I wouldn't, but to see an unrecorded pictorial early motorcycle sign, is very interesting indeed. The only comparable sign I can think of is the New Hudson, and that's a rare item in itself!

The financial value of this one is probably pretty low, but its interest is pretty high! Glad others seem to agree!

Great to see this sign....an exceptionally fine image far superior to the New Hudson.

Yep...definitely better detail on the bike....love the shading inside the wheels to give them the impression of spinning.....not as good a sign as the New Hudson but deffo a better image...

Interesting that this sign does not seem to be a Radco specific advertising sign, but it seems to be a multi-brand dealership advertising various brands and the services they provide; most probably a 1 off sign.

Can anybody help with the left hand side? I think I can make out several early motorcycle manufacturers:

- A.J.S ?

- Ariel ?

- Raleigh ?

What are the others??

The main image should read:
The King of Light Weights
2-1/2 H.P. Two Stroke

Radco

I guess if someone was going to restore it, they could go to the Rushden town archives and look for photographs of the Lawrence & Richardson Buisness, it wasn't a very big town at the time, so there ought to be some images I would think.

Fleece , I put my pic up as an example of a badly damaged sign that is still worth owning , not saying that the image is better !! Comments like yours just start arguments which are killing this site !!

Lawnmowerman are you serious, I wasn't commenting on your post. I love the Hudsons, i thought it was a bit rich of hasbeen saying that the Radco image was far superior to the Hudsons.

So read the post properly before you accuse me of ruining the site. It's a forum mate where people have different opinions, so chill out princess !!
