The local Bristol press will be featuring the phenomenal John White enamel sign coming up this Sunday.

Cat estimate is £800-1,200 but we all know it is gonna fly - muchos interest from a number of parties - and AB could be the dark horse on the day - he's sold a lot of stuff of late and has a pocket full of money - but not as much as Al!!!

This is the additional info going in the newspaper .....

" IJohn White was born at Bradford,Wiltshire.
In 1871, Bristol pork butcher John White - whose rare enamel advertising sign is coming up for sale on Sunday - was 43 and living at 113 Temple Street,Bristol, with his Winterbourne-wife,Elizabeth,44,and their five children - Herbert,20,Arthur,15,Laura,13,Maud,11,and Alfred,6 - and their live-in servant,Brent-born Harriett(correct, two t's)Thayer,46.
In the 1871 Census,Mr White described himself as a "provision curer", and he employed 4 men and 2 boys.
His eldest son,Bristol-born Herbert, was a clerk to a wine merchant.
Sometime between 1871 and 1881 Mr and Mrs White moved to Flax Bourton,Somerset, with their youngest child,Alfred, and at their new home they employed two live-in servants,Elizabeth Luff,26,and Lydia Hill,25.
