I noticed a seller from Germany listing a whole lot of signs on Ebay last week, all of which I had seen several times before go through and not sell. I contacted him as to whether he had any reserves on them as I know from the past he has always had crazy reserves on everything. He assured me only a couple of signs had reserves on them. Of course what happens next?? The auction I was looking at is ended with a day to go and relisted with a reserve on it. Sellers can put any price on their signs they want, but Branjan1, don't try and bullshit a bullshitter.

I bought a sign off him years ago. I let it run and asked afterwards.

That's why I asked him in the first place, because I knew he was a dreamer. After not having a reserve, the Dr De Jonghs sign got to 620 pounds, reserve not met. Sounds like good money for it to me??

Yep !!  Gordo is SPOT ON !!!

He's had load of good signs on ebay, off and on for the last 4 or 5 years at least,

Lately a few seem to have had decent to generous ' winning bids ' but still not reaching the hidden reserves !

Previously he would nearly always offer at 2 to 3 times the value ' Buy it Nows '

I had most of his recent signs on my watch page as I was interested in his ' new ' direction on his listings. (ie) was he going to put signs up for genuine auction and let them sell. The DE JONGHS was actually listed about 10 days ago with a low start and no reserve. I was watching it but it went........... ONLY to come back on again this time listed with a reserve & as Gordo points out NOT SOLD at £620.

Its been on ebay a few times at a ' Buy It Now ' at much higher prices as have all the others listed recently, actually much, much higher so I doubt the the £620 was within a squeak of the reserve.

Anyway as the seller thats his right. Its just unfortunate as a buyer when you put up a fair/good offer ' bid ' and get nowhere near buying it

It's funny you should mention the generous bids without reaching reserve Lummox. When I looked at the bids placed, there happened to be two bidders going for it, both happened to come from Germany, I got a whiff of possibly something dodge going on.
