I don't often look at the Art section of ebay, but was browsing about the other day, and this caught my eye. (Number 270642866623)  The same drawing is featured in Pictures By David Hockney, this is obviously a copy of the original work, but the seller has been very clever and pleaded ignorance about the artist.  There are subtle differences in the drawing, but surely any proper art dealer worth his salt would recognise this immediately?  Do you think it's a scam?

very dodgy...... you should get enamels 1000 to ask his local neighbour as mr hockney  lives a stones throw away from him on the east coast ,      judging by the price of repros  eg the the small pratts  sign or  actual paintings people are still geting caught and always ask or find more info after the deal is done ,,,,my best advice is , ask first then  purchase ,,, these scammers dont have a concience,,,,,

I agree completely.  I had no intention or interest in bidding on it, I just think it's despicable the way people are being caught.  The drawing was quite well done, except for the hands, they looked like a five year old had drawn them.  You'd think potential buyers would notice that, or perhaps they didn't want to?  The eye sees what the heart wants....

Same with repro enamels, but that's another subject altogether.
