I think Fred can expect a pleasant surprise coming his way. He could probably hope to times his own estimate by a factor of 10 . This sign ticks all the right boxes , as they say. It's got excellent condition and gloss, rarity value , collectable subject matter, and a brilliant slogan . You'd sell your Granny for it if you collected cycling stuff. I'll stick my neck out and suggest in excess of a thousand pounds . When you look at all the over-priced dross on Ebay , this is a quality thing, in another league altogether.

Went ( after reading this thread  ) to have a look to see if this sign was on ebay yet, running down the listings , my eye was drawn to a 1920s rare ,mint Royal Enfield listed by one of the many Indian con men who inhabit  the site

If you really  want to make  your money by  conning  people then make sure your story stands up.

 I have this Royal Enfield sign which is not as desiable as Freds but still a nice thing so I'll leave it for you Tom, sounds like you might have to dig a bit deeper into your wallet !!
