Has anybody else come across this Hudson's Soap before. I can't recall ever seeing one with out letters on the lamp, and certainly never seen one with just a pointy hand!

Yes its on eBay 143135100019

I have never seen one like that before Griffon... very unusual. This clock is also unusual having a light blue border. Any more rare/unusual Hudson's stuff out there?

Seen one without the letters on the lamp (below), but not with the hand too!

This was on ebay a while back, but makes an interesting comparison; note the plain lettering (which I had always assumed was earlier than the 'script' type.)

See they are both by Chromo.

I agree Banjo. Love that script lettering on it.

Always thought these Hudson's signs were an unusual size. Twice the width of a standard fingerplate but half the size of a standard enamel??? I have owned this one a long time and always resisted the temptaition to have the small ding on the right edge restored.

The manicule over the lamp in the top sign seems very weird indeed - visually and from a design point of view it doesn't make sense! You don't need them both in terms of why they're on the sign. Weird primitive looking bulbous manicule too.
