Look at the detail on these Few,look at the depth and strong colours..The pictures could go on and on..When Langcat can show me the same quality then i May just change my mind about Foreign made signs..?.In the meantime i carry on collecting "British made enamels" which we All know are Best

Have to disagree BB - had a pocket watch fingerplate enamel made in Switzerland and it knocked spots off any British enamel sign.

I think that British signs have a character which appeals to me which I don't see in continental signs. It's very subjective I guess.

I have a very rare, French enamel made late 19th century - judging by the dress. Hand enamelled. Even signed by the enameller.  I'm going to sell this as well as all the other enamels I am clearing.

Watch this space...

Only a photo of it now BB, which I'm struggling to upload. It has been posted on the site before, maybe in late 2012. I'll see if I can find the thread.

I'll just add that it is black on white on blue, and ALL the black was raised up off the base metal just like the decoration on a Moorcroft vase. No firing marks, no bits of frit dropped on the face, absolute quality and prefectly made right down to the smallest detail. I really regret selling it to tell you the truth.
