Hi Dave,
Not sure of the answer to that question but in my few years of collecting tins, I have seen more of the 100 and 50s tins of the "Great Auk" than the 20s. The manufacturer Albert Baker & Co were founded in 1898 in Holloway Rd, London N7. It was a retail outfit but had their own tobacco & cigarettes manufactured with own brand names such as "Marc Anthony" -"Houris" -"Selim 11" -"Nutts" and "Great Auk" and many others. The brands were aimed at an upper class market and were very decorative and collectible in good condition. I think they were trying compete with "Salmon & Gluckstein Ltd" who also were a large retail outfit and did very decorative tins such as "Snake Charmer" -"Dandy Fifth" -"Life Boat" and many others. Baker & Co were taken over by Finlay & Co in early 1920s which was owned by the ITC.
