Yes as Trixie says, the Stepney is a repro......although really its worse !! Its not a Collectors decorative sign made in the 80's which some try to pass off as genuine.
This has been made / ordered fairly recently and is being sold specifically to decieve and for big money. The seller has about 4 different ebay names and regularly lists various grades of shite and spurious signs.
This sign together with others was for sale in an auction. To the auctioneers credit they were withdrawn when he was notified they were all " fake "
Some ebayers from another forum have been pushing the bidding up to absurd levels to try and highlight the fact its wrong and ' spoil ' the auction. This was done sucessfully with another " high value " ... NOT sign last year. Ebay have been informed this sign is fake by a few ebayers BUT surprise surprise nothing has been done.
As an aside the Ellimans is being sold by a decent chap ( NOT ME !! ) and is a REAL sign, if you win , mention my name to him and you might get 50p off
